Original Airdate: 23-Feb-1980
Plot: Bonnie meets an old friend who is now a famous stuntman. On patrol, Ponch and Jon come across some people who were robbed on a bus. They search for the car but can't find it. That night, Bonnie shows up at Getraer's while he is examining some gem stones. She tells Getraer that she is considering leaving the force for a $30,000/year job at the thrill show (about twice what she makes as a CHP). The next day the buss bandits are at it again. Turner, Baker, and Poncherello respond. Ponch finds teh getaway car empty. After the briefing, the CHP enjoys watching the Chitwood's Thrill Show's death defying stunts. Bonnie starts training for the show but Ponch and Jon aren't enthusiastic. On their way home, a woman waves her scarf out a bus window. Jon calls it in from the CB in Ponch's Firebird. Turner and Baricza respond. After Baricza is sideswiped off the road, Ponch and Jon identify themselves and the bus starts ramming Ponch's car. After getting rammed Ponch drives about a half mile on two wheels and the bus gets away. The next day, Grossie spots a tour bus in an area not usually visited by tour busses. The CHP responds when the thieves leave the bus. Grossie, Baricza, Ponch, Jon, and Turner are all chasing them when Getraer joins in and gives orders. They all help catch the thieves in possibly one of the most thrilling "CHiPs" chases ever. Back at Central, everyone's happy to learn that Bonnie is staying a CHP officer.
